The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona on Friday, 15 November 2024 visited three (3) soldiers who were injured during escort duty in Bawku.
The soldiers, who were receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital were injured in an accident while escorting civilians to safety.
During his visit, the COAS provided financial assistance for their recovery. He assured them that they would receive the necessary medical attention and wished them a speedy recovery.
Maj Gen Onwona commended the soldiers for their alertness and quick reaction, which prevented a more severe outcome. As a result, he promoted them to the next rank in their career progression. 
The COAS was accompanied by the General Officer Commanding Northern Command, Brigadier General Frank Nartey Tei, and other principal staff officers from the Army Headquarters.
