Ghana Army Holds Pre-Senior Staff Course Cadre

The Ghana Army has held a two-week Pre-Senior Staff Course cadre for 40 Army Officers from various units of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) from Monday, 26 August 2024 to Friday, 6 September 2024 at the Dohazari Auditorium in Burma Camp.

The purpose of the cadre was to enhance officers' understanding of current rules and conventions of service writing and operational staff work and prepare the prospective students ahead of the upcoming Senior Command and Staff Course 46 at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC).In an address to participants of the cadre, the Deputy Chief Staff Officer, Operations and Training (DCSO Ops & Trg) at the Army Headquarters, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Kweku Dankwah Hagan emphasized the importance of the cadre which he said would equip them with the fundamentals to prepare and enable them to strive for excellence not only on the  course but throughout their career progression. He disclosed that the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona has noted the positive impact that the implementation of the cadre has had on the performance of Army Officers, ranking them 1st to 3rd in previous courses, including the just ended Senior Command and Staff Course 45.

Brig Gen Hagan commended the Army Headquarters G7 branch for ensuring the successful realization of the cadre. He also commended the Directing Staff for their commitment to duty and the immense support given to the officers which would go a long way to help them on the course.

The Course senior student, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Kofi Edusei Afriyie Bandoh on behalf of his fellow participants expressed his deepest gratitude to Brigadier General Kweku Dankwah Hagan for his motivational words which had inspired them to strive for excellence and make the Ghana Army proud.
