Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Speratus Anglaawine Baninyeni has taken over as the Commanding Officer (CO) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Jungle Warfare School (JWS) on Tuesday 20 January 2026, at the Seth Anthony Barracks, Akim Achiase in the Eastern Region.
Lt Col Baninyeni took over Command from Lt Col Jacob Cudoje, the outgoing Commanding Officer, who completed his two-year tenure as Commander JWS. The Guest of Honour for the ceremony, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Joshua Amanor, Commander Army Training Command, said the tenure of the outgoing Commanding Officer was characterised by improved infrastructure development and enhanced administrative efficiency.
He lauded Lt Col Jacob Cudoje for his noble achievements during his tenure of office, which include the acquisition of a tricycle to support operations at the JWS jungle stream mineral water factory, the reconstruction of barracks roads, and the construction of a multipurpose square, among others.
Brig Gen Amanor called on officers, Soldiers and Defence Civilian Staff to offer the incoming Commanding Officer the same level of loyalty, dedication and cooperation to ensure continuity and sustained growth of the Command.
In his farewell address, the outgoing Commanding Officer, Lt Col Jacob Cudoje, expressed his profound gratitude to the Commander ATRAC, Officers, Soldiers and Defence Civilian Staff of JWS for their cooperation and unwavering support throughout his tenure. He expressed his appreciation to the personnel for demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and esprit de corps, which contributed to the overall success of his command.
He wished the incoming Commanding Officer a successful tenure and urged the staff to give him a similar level of support to help him achieve his aim.
