Students of Nigeria Senior Leadership Officers Course 2-24 Visit Army Headquarters

Students of the Senior Leadership Officers Course 2-24 from the Nigeria Army College of Logistics and Management visited the Army Headquarters in Burma Camp, on Wednesday, 11 September 2024 as part of their African Study tour.

The leader of the delegation, Major General (Maj Gen) Wisdom Benjamin Etuk, Commandant of the Nigeria Army College of Logistics and Management, paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Maj Gen Bismarck Kwasi Onwona in his office. Maj Gen Etuk in a discussion with the COAS stated that the theme for their tour was "Enhancing national security through regional cooperation for socio-economic development". He expressed his expectation that the study tour would expose the students to valuable experiences and enable them to produce insightful reports.

The COAS welcomed the delegation and commended the Nigerian Military for establishing a college dedicated solely to logistics, emphasizing its crucial role as the backbone of every military. He indicated that the theme for their tour was highly relevant to the shared goal of achieving security in the sub-region, which would lead to economic and social development. He stressed the importance of more collaborations and shared intelligence to learn from each other.

The students also witnessed a presentation on "Enhancing internal security through cross border cooperation and its challenges" by Colonel IB Mohammed, Chief G3 Operations at the Army Headquarters.

Major (Maj) Eva Yakubu, speaking on behalf of the students, expressed her profound gratitude for the informative briefing, which greatly enriched their experience and broadened their knowledge on how the Ghana Army maintains peace and security. She assured that they would make good use of the acquired knowledge in their research and management roles. Maj Yakubu also looked forward to a more crucial relationship between the Ghana Army and the Ghana Armed Forces at large.
