The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) 12 has organised a two-day inter-company fun games at the Ghanbatt Headquarters, Bentiu from 8 to 9 November 2024.
The event that formed part of activities to welcome personnel to the operational area, saw troops from Headquarters, Alpha, Bravo and Charlie Companies competing in activities such as volley ball, badminton, tug of peace, tennis ball, snooker and video games.The Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Godfred Asampong, commended the troops for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
He noted that the games had enhanced the esprit de corps among personnel rather than echoing personal glory. He further used the occasion to outline plans for upcoming GHANBATT activities, encouraging troops to participate fully.
At the end of the keenly contested competition, Headquarters Company emerged overall winners of the games followed by Charlie, Alpha and Bravo Companies emerging second, third and fourth respectively.
